New Music for 2011 and 2012

Picture
Working with Brighton record producer Al Scott  inspired Jay Davies to create an album of his own, by himself.  The result 'As Above (But Not Below)' is a right here, right now reflection on the currency of everyday life.

The title track (originally called 'Stalker') was inspired by the very recent phone hacking stories, but the change of title has turned it into a musing on wider socio-political polices.  'United Nations' was written and recorded during the recent student protests, and 'Plymouth Sound' was inspired from the every day military presence on Plymouth's otherwise beautiful harbour.

Ending with 'Get Out Of The Water', Jay Davies’ first homemade recordings make a uniquely crafted album.  Experimental and brave, it brings out the best in DIY music; beautiful insightful songs and idiosyncratic style.
